Dr. Hugo Stevenson

Dr. Hugo Stevenson is a Registered Clinical Psychologist and clinical leader, who has worked in mental health for the past 20 years both as a therapist and a clinical supervisor. As a self identified Cuban immigrant and proud Latino therapist, Dr. Hugo brings his warm and engaging personality and commitment to culturally inclusive therapy to his supervision and therapy approach. 

Dr. Hugo has extensive experience in psychological assessment and treatment of people with diverse clinical concerns, including complex post traumatic stress disorder (C-PTSD), anxiety disorders, mood disorders and interpersonal and adjustment related difficulties. 

Dr. Stevenson, as the clinical director and clinical supervisor of Bloom, is skilled in training and applying Psychodynamic and Relational psychotherapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) principles, Solution-Focused Approaches, Family Systems techniques, harm-reduction strategies, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), mindfulness strategies, and EMDR techniques. Dr. Stevenson has a warm and friendly approach, and is motivated and dedicated to collaborative treatment with his clients. When he’s not working with the team at Bloom, Dr. Stevenson sees clients out of his Milton, ON office and enjoys being active and spending time with his family.
