Hello and welcome, I’m Jenniel, a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying), and I provide individual and couples therapy from a judgment-free, culturally sensitive, strengths-based, and trauma-informed lens.

Life happens, and because of negative experiences, many people do not develop the emotional, social, or functional skills required to cope with and thrive. I help adults who experienced childhood and adult trauma, abuse (including verbal, physical, emotional, and sexual), and neglect. These experiences often show up as social anxiety, depression, compulsive behavior, fear, negative thinking, or low self-worth. Working from an empathetic, trauma-informed, strength-based perspective, I will guide and support you as you make the changes you desire, address unhelpful ways of functioning, and build your strengths and resilience to promote your healing and growth.

I provide space for you to be heard and understood. You will have a safe environment to gently explore the impact of traumatic events. With therapy, you can learn to regulate your emotions, address trigger responses, and develop resilience and coping skills. I utilize talk therapy and somatic (body) interventions for a holistic approach to designing and applying your tailored therapeutic healing plan.

The path to healing can seem scary, and change is not always easy, but you do not have to do this work alone. I will guide and support you every step of the way.

Thank you!

We appreciate your interest in working with us. You should expect a message from our Intake Coordinator shortly. We aim to respond to all inquiries in 1-3 business days.

I am motivated to help clients heal from the physical and emotional effects of trauma, abuse, and neglect. I support clients as they develop the skills needed to respond healthily to life challenges and work with them to develop and pursue goals to reach their desired outcomes. I have clinical experience working with clients struggling with childhood trauma, betrayal trauma, neglect, anxiety, depression, and relationship issues. I am skilled in and enjoy using various therapeutic approaches, including Solution Focused Therapy, CBT, Brainspotting, and Emotionally Focused Therapy.

I received a Masters (M.Ed.) in Adult Education from Memorial University in 2016 and completed the Master of Divinity (Counselling Emphasis) program from Denver Seminary (graduating May 2023). I am also a trained Clinical Trauma Specialist through the Arizona Trauma Institute.

When I’m not in the therapy room, I enjoy self-development, British TV, and traveling. I’ve lived in the Caribbean, US, the UK, and Canada, and my travel experiences have given me a firsthand understanding of various cultures. I’ve grown to appreciate the challenges, courage, and strength it takes to begin life in a new country, and I am better able to connect with people of culturally diverse backgrounds.

As part of my commitment to continued growth, I embrace joy, playfulness, and laughter in my life, which I also encourage and support in my clients.

My work is supervised by Sandra Joy, M.A.C.P., RP., RPC., MPCC-S. Learn more about Sandra Joy here
