“The one who plants trees, knowing that he will never sit in their shade, has at least started to understand the meaning of life.” – Rabindranath Tagore

Thank you for taking the time to get to know me! Born and raised in multicultural Toronto as a daughter of Punjabi Sikh immigrants and currently raising a multi-ethnic family, my life crosses multiple intersections of identity. I bring this awareness into my practice and employ culturally-sensitive and trauma-informed approaches to create an atmosphere of safety and collaboration.

I use various therapeutic approaches, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, and mindfulness-based practices, along with a dash of humor!

We will work together to deepen your self-awareness, understand the connections between your emotional well-being, your relationships, and your environments, leverage your strengths, and develop new behavioural patterns to support you live by your values, achieve your goals, and meet your needs.

As a therapist, I view my role as that of a teammate: we both bring our various experiences and expertise into the space and we work together towards a common goal. Sometimes I will teach, sometimes I will learn, sometimes I will challenge you, and I will always be your cheerleader.

“The one who plants trees, knowing that he will never sit in their shade, has at least started to understand the meaning of life.”

I am a Registered Occupational Therapist (OT Reg. (Ont.)), Psychotherapist, and I am honoured to work collaboratively with diverse individuals as they travel on their healing and wellness journeys. I am committed to supporting individuals develop greater self-awareness and create healthier emotional, thought, behavioural, and interpersonal patterns to create lives worth living.

I received my Masters of Science (MSc.) in Occupational Therapy from the University of Toronto. Over the last 14 years, I have worked in publicly- and privately-funded healthcare settings supporting people with depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress, severe and persistent mental illness, addictions, workplace trauma and stress injuries, and complex medical conditions. I also volunteer with organizations focused on mental health promotion in the South Asian diaspora, and I am also passionate about promoting perinatal mental health amongst BIPOC communities.

My work with individuals is guided by my values of acceptance, compassion, curiosity, and connection. Having benefited immensely from therapy myself, it is my honour to join you on your psychotherapy journey.

When not in sessions, it is most probable you will find me looking for a spot to hide from my 5- and 3-year old daughters for two minutes of silence. Usually, I am not successful.
