Tracy Amponsah Owusu-Gyimah

Hey there! I’m Tracy, a Registered Social Worker focused on supporting folks struggling with depression, anxiety and life stress. My goal is to create a warm, safe and non-judgmental space for your mental health and growth. I strive to always meet you where you are, and support you as we carve a path to where you want to go.

My lived experience as a Black womxn has brought me to this work and grounds me in it. My work is trauma informed, person-centered, and guided by anti-oppression, intersectionality and challenges systemic oppression and anti-black racism.

The work we do together is evidenced based and collaborative. Together we will prioritize, safety and growth, and utilize behaviour therapies to challenge unhelpful thoughts, actions and relationships in your life. I believe in the power of vulnerability and humility. Through this lens, we will center respect, compassion and personal growth – with a touch of humor and fun where needed.

My hope is that in our work together you will feel heard, supported, and challenged in your journey to witness and develop your skills, strengths, and resiliency. I know that the learning will be reciprocal, and I look forward to connecting with you.

When not working I can be found watching reality television, listening to podcasts, in a drive-thru line up or with family and friends.

My work is supervised by Dr. Hugo Stevenson, PhD CPsych. Learn more about Dr. Stevenson here.

Hey there! I’m Tracy, a registered social worker focused on supporting folks struggling with depression, anxiety and life stress. Together, I hope we can create a warm, safe and non-judgemental space for you to heal and grow into your best self.

I hold a BSW from Carleton University and a MSW from the University of Toronto. My academic education has informed my understanding of the role of systems on our mental health and wellbeing – and the importance of education, diversity, and equity. My background in mental health is varied and includes trauma and sexual violence support, youth addiction, mental health case management and housing concerns, and working towards diverse mental health access. I have enjoyed public education events, as well as committee and organizational work as it relates to mental health, youth and race.

My lived experience as a Black womxn has brought me to this work and grounds me in it. My work is trauma informed, person centered, embraces intersectionality and feminism and challenges systemic oppression and anti-black racism.

My hope is that in our work together you will feel heard, supported, and challenged in your journey to witness and develop your skills, strengths, and resiliency. I know that the learning will be reciprocal, and I look forward to connecting with you.
