I believe we all have the urge to grow and heal from hardships and this desire just needs to be supported and cared for. I want to strengthen your existing tools, provide new tools and prove to you that you already have some self-care practices that you’ve developed.
I am a cisgender queer neurodivergent woman, second-generation immigrant, intersectional feminist of Black-Latin American descent. As a Canadian born member of the Latinx/e community, I am always exploring and navigating my multiple cultural identities, so I proudly speak Spanglish, Spanish, and English.
Masking and code-switching is helpful in providing safety for many of us in this society. It can hinder movement towards growth within therapy. I want you to feel like you can be your authentic self. I want to encourage self-exploration. I like bringing my whole self into a space, and encourage you to do the same. I want you to feel safe enough to let your walls down and feel like no problem is too large or small to work through together.
Collaboration is important to me, so you’ll find that I won’t be dominating the conversation and I acknowledge that there is always so much to learn from you. You are the expert of your own experience after all.
I understand that life’s challenges can become overwhelming, so I hope that the space I provide for you helps you feel comfortable to vent, problem-solve, lean on others who are for you, and gain confidence in your ability to take on future challenges.
My work is supervised by Meghan Watson, M.A Registered Psychotherapist.
“Rather than a lens of punishment, consequence, or even accountability, we might try understanding justice through an ethic of love.”
