Sometimes we don’t have the words to describe exactly what’s wrong with us. All we know is that we feel completely exhausted by all of it. We feel it in our bones. We’re having trouble keeping up with our lives and we feel like we keep repeating the same mistakes — like we keep letting people down and aren’t showing up properly. We keep trying to fix it, but nothing seems to work. We might resort to hiding all or part of ourselves because we think it’ll just make it easier for everyone. But the loneliness we feel from hiding all or part of ourselves from our families, friends, loved ones can feel insidious and insurmountable or feel like its beginning to sabotage our ability to be “productive”, “normal”, or “good” at work or at school; in our romantic relationships; or, with our parents and friends.

If this is how you might be feeling, you no longer have to do this alone. Together, we can navigate these challenges. As a second-generation Ghanaian-Canadian, cis-het woman, and registered social worker my work is an extension of my lived experience navigating race, gender, class, neurodivergence, and mental health. My personal story is largely defined by themes of identity, otherness and belonging. This experience is what underscores my passion for providing compassionate and affirming therapy services that prioritizes the mental health and wellbeing of racialized folx.

I offer psychotherapy services under the supervision of Nadia Saad, MSW, RSW, Psychotherapist. Learn more about Nadia Saad here.

"May you enter spaces where you are seen, heard, appreciated, understood and celebrated. May you become that space for yourself and others."

Fun Fact/ About Me

📚 Something I always have on my desk:
Aside from the endless accumulation of dust, receipts, and neon-coloured post-it notes despite my best efforts to keep my desk clean? A Snowy figurine that I got from the Tintin Museum in Belgium, a Matryoshka doll that I got from Poland, and usually a mug of earl grey tea and a bottle of water.

☕️ First time therapy tip:
Finding a therapist is like finding a good pair of shoes: You wouldn’t wear a pair of shoes that don’t fit, but it takes a while to find a pair that fit just right. Have patience for the process and know that you might have to try on a few different types of therapists before you find one that adequately meets your needs.
I am a second-generation Canadian 🇨🇦 with heritage from Ghana, West Africa 🇬🇭. I was born here in Canada — in Hamilton, ON — but I grew up in Calgary, AB. I consider myself Ghanaian-Canadian.
